Title: Online Project Management
Abstract:
Software Development today transcends geographical boundaries. The various phases, such as requirements phase, coding, testing etc., are carried out in those physical locations where specialists exist and development costs are low. This poses new challenges in managing such projects.

I have developed a web based solution which helps in managing such physically distributed projects. Based on the data inputs by the project leaders at various locations, Gantt and PERT Charts are dynamically generated. This helps in visualizing the project flow in a better manner. Also the system generates "who works on what" information and a comprehensive summary of all the projects. The project members can upload and download files and concurrency control locks are enforced. This ensures that the files are not corrupted when more than one member work on the same file.

The Project has been implemented using .NET Architecture. Data is maintained in a MS Access 2000 Database. VB Script is used for Server Side Scripting and is embedded using ASP.NET.

All are welcome.
