Title: Design of a visual simulator to simulate and analyze M/M/1 and branched M/M/1 queuing systems using the a concurrent computing model

Abstract:
Analysis and design of queuing systems have been an interested scientists and engineers for many decades. However with the stochastic nature of real world queuing systems it is difficult to analyze them in the traditional framework of operational research and operations management.

Hence scientists and engineers often use computer simulations to analyze and design such systems. There are a large number of simulation tools and programs available for this purpose. However, most of them are written in languages that do not support multi-threading.

This is essential as various components of queuing system function independent of each other. In this project a very basic simulator is created by using the multi-threaded nature of Java to carry out simulation of M/M/1 and M/M/1 queues with stochastic branching and routing features.

All are welcome!
